Set in a quiet, pine-lined street in the suburb of Marousi, the apartment faces south and receives ample daylight. This, however, was not reflected in the deep living area, open to the balcony only on one side.
A meticulous approach to the constraints of the existing plan was adopted. Constraints were identified and addressed one by one, turned instead into opportunities towards a flexible plan, better adapted to everyday use.
The adopted design moves are not concealed but rather celebrated, both in colour and volumetric approach. Free, lego-like, furniture volumes define a new hallway and kitchen space, not touching the ceilings. The bathroom becomes a clear volume in its own right. Blue is chosen as complementary to the existing yellowish hues.
